Simplyhealth extends its web customer experience into self service

Simplyhealth, provides health insurance for both individuals and companies through Intermediaries and direct to consumers.  The launch of customer registration and self-service functionality is based on a Service Orientated Architecture implemented on class leading technologies supplied by ATG, Mule and Oracle.

Sceneric has provided experts on the self-service project since development began in 2006 and have been key in the design, architecture and development of the Simplyhealth family of websites.  For self service, Sceneric provided:

•   Skilled ATG consultants to deliver a reusable, guaranteed delivery messaging system to integrate into the Mule web services using the patchbay and ATG Repository
•   Architectural expertise to ensure a high performance system to protect back office systems from web traffic
•   Specific security consultancy to produce a highly secure site which is easy to use and provides a fluid customer experience. 

Sceneric designed a multi-layer architecture and worked with external security specialists, and the Simplyhealth architecture team to ensure best practices were adhered to.

The new services includes customer registration and login, summary of cover information and 'request a claim form' functionality. The result will form the basis of market leading web based self-service in the coming months.
